Space Food is a cookbook talks about how to prepare and package space food. The content is adapted from "The Astronaut's Cookbook" wrote by Charles T.Bourland.

In this project, I explored how to combine text with image and book binding techniques. The book is hand-bond by myself using Perfect Binding with no spine cover on the side. Therefore, all four sides look identical. The cover of the book is made with acrylic board with laser-cut engraving of the moon on the back.

When designing the book, I choose not to show the real food images. Instead, I modeled and photoed the containers for those food, since the packaging for space food is a very important part in the preparation process. The type treatments are inspired by the loss of gravity in the space.
